About Lisa

Lisa Fein is an Exercise Physiologist based in southeast Michigan. She holds certifications in Personal Training, Group Fitness and Pilates. She works with people of all ages and abilities, and personalizes each session. She teaches Mat and Equipment Pilates, Balance and Strength Training and Yoga, among other methods.

Lisa is passionate about helping others to achieve their health and fitness goals. For those with pain, she wants to help clients learn to heal themselves through movement.

Lisa has been in the health and fitness industry for over 30 years. She earned a Masters degree in Exercise Science from Oakland University. Her course work focused on exercise and nutrition as disease prevention. She is knowledgeable about the disease process and prevention of cardiovascular (heart) disease, diabetes and cancers. 

While getting her degree, Lisa worked in Physical Therapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation. She also instructed Stress Management classes at Oakland Community College.

Lisa works with clients of all abilities. (She has worked with clients 16 to 91 years old!) There is usually a way to modify exercises to make movement available to all participant levels. Clients with osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, pregnancy, pre & post surgery for knee replacements, back, neck & shoulder are some of the clients she has instructed. In addition, she has worked with clients that have neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and ataxia.

Lisa enjoys learning through continuing education courses to better serve her students.


EXERCISE VARIETIES TAUGHT

Lisa currently teaches Pilates, both on the Mat and Pilates equipment, Yoga, Strength training, low impact dance aerobics and balance & fall prevention classes.  She also instructs TRX, Fitball, Yamuna Body Rolling and the Eric Franklin Method for lower back fascia.
